It was an opportunity to go unbelievable lengths for the good of mankind.
About Lukuku Village.
Lukuku, located in Gwagwalada, is a village that seems bereft of government interventions. With one water supply and a lack of electricity. The average number of villagers was not captured in this project.
The indigenes are mostly farmers and have their farmlands separated by a small yet treacherous river. Trust us we put our foot in there and were lucky to make it across though the villagers seemed to have no problems getting across the river, we couldn’t help but notice the absence of a bridge as we noticed children also made their way across with the help of some of the adults. A recommendation will be for a bridge to be built across the said river. On reaching the village, we were greeted by happy people who were grateful to have visitors beyond the gift we brought. WE were assisted in transporting the items we brought and taken to meet their chief who received us and thanked us. He shared with us their electrical challenges and requested an intervention to assist with lightening up the village.
The pristine air around the village was a good reward from the air in the urban regions, and the availability of farm lands is a good investment opportunity for those who may be interested. It was a fun experience that revealed the need for humanitarian work to be taken seriously. Seeing the smiles of the locals was a win.
